The Palestinian National Authority Condemns the Explosion in Tel-Aviv and Demands Self Restrain and Immediate Stop to all Violence

June 2, 2001

Official Statement:

The PNA strongly condemns the suicidal explosion that took place last night in Tel-Aviv, and demands self restrain from all sides, and not to escalate violence in order not to sabotage the already difficult road to negotiations to achieve peace between the two nations.

We have declared many times that the Mitchell report and the Egyptian-Jordanian initiative are a good base to stop hostilities and to resume negotiations.

In spite of that, Israel is still escalating its aggression against us, attack us and continue the starving policy against us, using the siege and blockades beside destroying our infra structure and the daily killing of our citizens.

We call upon the international community to pressure Israeli to stop killing, destroying, and starving our people, and to pressure it to accept resuming negotiations based on the Mitchell report and the Egyptian-Jordanian initiative and the international law including the UN resolutions.
