Arafat's Statement after the Tel-Aviv Explosion

President Yasser Arafat stated today in the presence of the German Foreign Mr. Minister Joschka Fischer and the UN Secretary General special envoy Mr. Tirje Larsen that H.E. repeats the condemnation of the tragic operation in Tel Aviv against civilians, and all operations that result in the killing of civilians, Palestinians or Israelis.
Hereby is the full text of the statement of President Arafat:
We have condemned through an official statement, the bomb attack that took place in Tel Aviv last night.
I repeat our condemnation of this tragic operation in Tel Aviv against civilian and to all operations that result in the killing of civilians, Israelis or Palestinians.
We exerted and We are ready to exert all possible efforts to stop the bloodshed of our people and the Israeli people, and to do all that is needed to achieve an immediate and unconditional real and effective cease-fire through joint efforts, in order to go back to the negotiation table, and to the implementation of the Mitchell Repot and the Egyptian-Jordanian initiative.
We have asked for an immediate, international effort to help in this direction, for the protection and the future of our children, and their children, and to protect the peace process, "the Peace of the brave". Between the Israeli people and the Palestinian people, and on all Arab peace tracks in the region.
